Anand has been practising law in Singapore for the past 32 years. He first practised with Cooma Lau & Loh and M. Karthigesu before joining Tan Rajah & Cheah in April 1988. He became a partner in 1990.

His areas of practice include Company and Commercial related matters, Employment Law issues, Landlord and Tenant and Ship Financing matters.

Professional Experience 

Anand acts as Company Director and/or Company Secretary for many local private limited companies undertaking their corporate secretarial matters and assisting well-established local private limited companies in setting up subsidiaries in the South-East Asian Region. He advises local private limited companies and foreign investors in local private limited companies on contractual, employment, landlord and tenant and general corporate matters. He is the Legal Advisor and Trustee of a large registered local Charity.

Notable Transactions:

  • Legal Counsel for a large Scandivanian entity in its acquisition of substantial interests in a group of companies resident in Malaysia, Singapore and Australia

  • Legal Counsel for an established local private limited company with foreign participation in the securities industry assisting it in setting up similar entities in the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand

  • Local Legal Counsel for established legal firms and Companies in Japan assisting them in ship financing compliance matters with the Maritime Port Authority of Singapore
