Acted for a listed company in the Singapore High Court and in arbitration against its Seychelles joint venture partner relating to their joint venture for the building and operation of telecom towers in Myanmar. Issues included disputes as to jurisdiction and interpretation of pre-emption provisions in the joint venture.
Acted for an international bank in an international arbitration under the GMRA form of contract for a claim worth over USD250million. There were novel issues concerning the construction of various provisions of the GMRA, as well as the mechanism to be applied in a default scenario.
