Zahara has practised law with Tan Rajah & Cheah since 1990, first in its litigation department, and later in its commercial and conveyancing departments.

Zahara practises commercial and intellectual property law, and advises on protection and infringement issues, as well as on commercial transactions, including franchises, distribution and licensing agreements and online contracts. In the area of real estate, she practices landlord and tenant law, and handles conveyancing transactions including sales, purchases, financing and securitisation for private as well as institutional clients.

Zahara also acts for clients in probate and estate matters. She is a registered professional donee with the Office of Public Guardian and has been appointed as a professional donee / executor under clients’ Lasting Power of Attorneys / Wills to handle their private health care and property related decisions / estates.  

Professional Experience 

Intellectual Property

  • Represents corporate and institutional clients in maintenance of their trademark portfolios.

  • Advised on terms of use, privacy policy and related agreements for online platforms.

  • Represented clients in trademark infringement claims.

Corporate & Commercial

  • Acts for an international sports association in reviewing and advising on licensing and sponsorship agreements for the exploitation of its commercial rights relating to its tournaments.

  • Acted for a client involved in a cross-border joint venture for sustainable processing of waste materials in a circular economy, and advising on manufacture and supply agreements, consultancy and services agreements.

  • Advises on employment issues, and executive search agreements.

Real Estate

  • Acting for corporations, educational institutions and statutory boards in commercial and industrial leases.

  • Acted in the joint purchase of unit, joint sale of buildings, purchase of shophouses.

  • Acting for private and institutional clients in various security documents for financing arrangements.
